LAND OF THE SEVEN STARS

There are places that call me back time and time again—places that strip away the noise, leaving only peace and transformation.

This endless land carries a hushed power, where the spirits of Samburu myths and legends linger, weaving their stories into the stillness of the land. This is Loisaba—its name, meaning the Seven Sisters, a tribute written in the stars.

Loisaba is more than a conservancy—it’s a wild, living landscape, home to Kenya’s iconic wildlife and the communities who share its land. Here, beneath endless skies, eagles glide over rocky escarpments, and the acacia-strewn plains stretch beyond sight. By day, the land is alive; by night, the stars whisper stories of a timeless Africa.

STAR BEDS

sleep beneath eternity

I arrived before the land turned gold, the air cool, fragrant with the scent of wild things. Night sank slowly over Loisaba, vast and unbroken. With no cities near, the dark became luminous in its own way. The river murmured below, nightjars called, elephants shifted, and somewhere beyond, a kudu wrestled in the brush, antlers clashing in the dark.

I climbed to my star bed, lantern swaying. The warriors faded into shadow, silent and watching. Curled in warmth, a hot water bottle nestled beneath the sheets, I sank beneath a veil of dreams. The sky unfurled—immense and brilliant. Stars scattered like silver ash, and for a moment, I floated among them.

At dawn, hippos called from the river, deep-throated and ancient. Birds lifted the light with song, the day gently arriving. Here, time disappears. Nature surrounds you. And you dream wide awake.

Here, time disappears. Nature surrounds you. And you dream wide awake.

Above me, the sky unfolded, endless and brilliant. I had never seen so many stars. The land hummed with the sounds of nearby wildlife, the thrill of the unknown lingering in the air. Anything could have leaped onto my platform. This was part of the magic.

I woke to the grunting of hippos, their voices deep and beautiful, echoing from the river below. The morning air carried the songs of a thousand birds, welcoming the first light. With a panoramic view of the Kiboko Dam and its resident wildlife, every moment here feels timeless—as if you’ve stepped into a dream where nature is your constant companion.

The night sky is your ceiling, the valley your walls, and nature’s chorus your lullaby.
