AFRICAN ELEPHANT
Ulysses
KENYA, AFRICA | AMBOSELI
In the heart of Amboseli’s golden plains, Ulysses—an iconic Super Tusker—carved his story across the African landscape for more than forty years. Towering and dignified, he moved through the acacia woodland like a relic of a bygone era. Twice wounded by spears in human-wildlife conflict, Ulysses bore the scars of survival and perseverance. He endured, embodying quiet resilience until his noble journey ended in March 2022. His immense tusks, weighing 51 and 47 kilograms, remain a powerful testament to a life of grandeur and struggle.
Over the past century, African Savanna Elephants have lost 90 percent of their historic range.
